Fire Emblem Heroes Announced for Android and iOS Devices

Fire Emblem Heroes Announced for Android and iOS Devices

Nintendo knows how much we enjoyed that and is bringing the concept back for its latest mobile endeavors in the form of Fire Emblem Heroes, where we can vote for new heroes to be added to the game.

The fact that "Fire Emblem Heroes" is free-to-play might be encouraging to Wall Street investors, who were disappointed in the apparent difficulty that "Super Mario Run" has had in generating recurring revenue - players buy all the levels once for $9.99, with no other opportunities for ongoing revenue. Following the success of Fire Emblem Fates, Nintendo has confirmed during yesterday's Nintendo Direct that one more game will release on Nintendo 3DS this year.

Fire Emblem Heroes feature strictly 2D art, sprites on the battlefield and lovely illustrated and voiced portraits of characters during down time.

Lastly, there's a Fire Emblem game you'll be able to get your hands on in February.

Algeria play thrilling 2 - 2 draw with Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe equalized four minutes later, as Kuda Mahachi drilled a low shot just inside the Algerian far post. The Warriors would lead at half-time after Nyasha Mushekwi converted a 29th-minute penalty.

Announced at a Nintendo Direct dedicated entirely to the venerable franchise, Heroes adapts the movement grids and turn-based combat of previous Fire Emblem games to fit touchscreen play, with drag-and-drop controls used to move character units across smaller 6 x 8, vertical maps. And Dynasty Warriors/Fire Emblem mashup Fire Emblem: Warriors (see the trailer below) is coming to both Nintendo Switch and New Nintendo 3DS sometime this fall. However, orbs come in a variety of different colors, and no matter whether you opt to amass them through playing or paying, the colors you receive will always be random.

Nintendo launches its next adventure when Fire Emblem Heroes arrives soon on mobile. In the meantime, fans can vote on which characters should appear.

Fire Emblem Heroes is due on Android Feb. 2, Nintendo announced during the Fire Emblem presentation.

That wasn't today's only Fire Emblem announcement. This will be a momentous launch for fans as this will be the first mainline game to be released since Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn in 2007 for the Wii. The original 3DS will not be supported, presumably as a result of the technical issues surrounding Hyrule Warriors Legends. Nintendo is still keeping things under wraps but promises that a brand new Fire Emblem game will be coming in 2018.
