Can Liverpool loss help Arsenal beat Southampton?

Jurgen Klopp happy with Liverpool performance despite EFL Cup exit against Southampton

The Reds poor form continued last night, as they went crashing out of the EFL Cup after a 2-0 aggregate defeat by Southampton in the semi-finals.

"We know what we want to do, we know what we have to do and we know about the football we want to play, so that's all good".

"The reason nobody predicted Liverpool to win the league at the beginning of the season is because you look at the squad and it didn't look as good as the other three or four top sides so Klopp deserves great credit for actually getting more out of that squad and team than I thought he would be able to".

Klopp, whose side face Wolves in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday, insists the squad have the qualities to counteract opponents' stone-walling tactics which have sent the Reds' season into a tailspin. "A team doesn't win the Premier League shipping goals in the way they do".

"You have to score in this or that situation then the game changes a little bit, not against each team, but a few teams are happy with only being 1-0 down or whatever".

Netanyahu said over the weekend that he hopes to eventually extend Israeli sovereignty over all settlements. Netanyahu also said he supports an "Israeli sovereignty over Ma'aleh Adumim", a major West Bank settlement.

Furthermore they have the home crowd behind them so I expect a walk in the park.

"I do think at times we are fragile", he added. A manager who led us to our best ever first half (after 19 games) of the domestic Premier League season. "We were dominant. It is hard because you have to take risks but too many risks plays to their strengths".

Klopp felt there were "one or two counter-attacks" that Liverpool could have defended better, in that they "should not be in one-on-one situations with [Nathan] Redmond" but said that the rest was a result of "good play of Southampton".

Nicol believes a lack of clean sheets will end up costing Klopp's side dear, with it hard to see how they can force their way back into the title picture.

Klopp can point to mitigating factors, such as the absence of Sadio Mane through the Africa Cup of Nations, the weird row with Cameroon over Joel Matip and the drop off in form of those brought in to carry out his high-pressing game. Consequently, players can not perform during an entire season.
