Travis Wood Agrees To Deal With Royals

He decided Monday that there was one more move to make.

Free agent pitcher/occasional outfielder Travis Wood has agreed to a two-year deal with the Kansas City Royals, sources tell FanRag Sports.

Details of Wood's contract were not released.

The Reds talked to left-hander Travis Wood about a return to the organization.

"He's a victor", general manager Dayton Moore said.

The thought was that Kansas City would open the final spot in the rotation to competition among a handful of promising young pitchers.

Study says IN has 13th most 'structurally deficient' bridges IN the country
Meanwhile, the District of Columbia had the least with 9 comprised bridges, followed by Nevada with 31 and DE with 43. New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Rhode Island all saw increases in their preponderance of problem bridges.

It came down today that the Royals have signed Travis Wood.

He was 4-0 with a 2.95 ERA in a career-high 77 appearances with the Chicago Cubs last season, holding lefties to a.128 average. He earned the win in Game 2 of the National League Division Series vs. San Francisco, retiring all five hitters he faced in a 5-2 triumph. Coming off a World Series title with the Chicago Cubs, Wood hopes to earn a starting slot in a rotation shaken by the death of Yordano Ventura in a vehicle accident.

Wood now joins former Chicago Cubs teammates Jason Hammel and Jorge Soler in Kansas City.

The spending spree for Hammel and Wood late this offseason was made in large part because of the tragic death of Yordano Ventura.

"Obviously we weren't in the starting pitcher market", Moore said last week.
