Samsung Galaxy S8 first look: Upcoming flagship looks stunning

Exactly how the Galaxy S8 should look according to multiple sources in recent weeks. Image credit Benjamin Geskin

Samsung has lead the Android mobile phone market for at least a half-decade, but the Galaxy Note 7 misfortune a year ago lost the company goodwill with consumers after its phones exploded in trousers, hotel rooms, aircrafts, and elsewhere. Most recently, the Galaxy S8 showed off its 5.8-inch display and new on-screen buttons, since Samsung has removed all physical buttons from the front of both handsets.

The company also released a teaser of the smartphone at MWC in Barcelona. It is worthy of note that we can clearly see three buttons on the side of the renders and leaked images.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will go on sale April 21, following an official unveil in NY on March 29, the latest leaks indicate.

It's no secret that Samsung's Galaxy S8 is coming soon (heck, there's even an official launch date), so it only makes sense to see some pretty legit-looking pictures pop up on the internet. The render shows a handsome phone that aligns well with descriptions we've read in various reports over the past couple of months, but it's still just a render. The phones will feature the latest Qualcomm processor and Samsung's own virtual assistant Bixby.

I'll leave it to people who know the sport better than I do to confirm or debunk that. That's honestly what the spotlight should have been on is my teammates.

In addition, the company has set the date for the Galaxy Unboxing event of the year.

Little is known about the Galaxy S8, but two versions of the unit are expected to be launched, a standard version and a premium model, the Galaxy S8 Plus. The phone's left side has a volume rocker and button below that likely represents the power/lock button, moved from its usual position on the right.

A few details that can be noted in the images is that the top bezel is thicker than the lower bezel and the reason for that is that the from camera along with the iris scanner and other sensors are placed there.

Apple is believed to have removed the 3.5mm audio jack on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus for two reasons.
