Trump's 'Winter White House' to Host Xi Jinping in April

President Trump will host the Chinese president at his Mar-a-Lago estate in April, Axios reported on Monday.

The meeting is tentatively scheduled for April 6-7 at Trump's Florida Mar-a-Lago resort, USA online media outlet Axios reported on Monday, citing officials familiar with the plans. Secretary of State is visiting Beijing this week and is expected to finalize plans for the summit.

Press secretary Sean Spicer announced the Palm Beach trip to reporters during the White House press briefing, offering no other details regarding the objective of the trip.

Trump extended the Mar-a-Lago invitation to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his wife in February, where the two couples dined with New England Patriot's owner Robert Kraft.

NY governor condemns U.S. anti-Semitism on Israel trip
During his trip, Governor Cuomo also designated the first Sunday in June as Shimon Peres day in honor of the late Peres. Andrew Cuomo sought to allay concerns about anti-Semitism in the US this weekend during a whirlwind trip to Israel.

The planned meeting comes after a long campaign in which Trump promised the American people he'd be tough on China.

Trump has made it a key priority of his administration to get China to exercise more leverage as the main energy and food provider for North Korea to rein in the provocative regime.

The then-U.S. president-elect also publicly toyed with the idea that Washington was not bound by the "One China" policy.

Trump and Xi could also clash over the deployment in South Korea of the U.S. THAAD missile defense system.
