McDonald's blames anti-Trump tweet on accessed account

McDonalds tweet slams Trump

In a statement, later posted to the account, McDonald's said: "Twitter notified us that our account was compromised".

Later in the day, McDonald's said in a tweet that Twitter had informed it the account had been compromised.

On Thursday, a pinned tweet showed up on McDonald's Corporation's Twitter account - a tweet which has since been deleted.

The message was published on the company's corporate Twitter account at 6.16am EST on March 16 to its 151,000 followers and stayed online for around 20 minutes. Easterbrook also supported Andrew Puzder, Trump's first pick for the Secretary of Labor.

Operated by Alonyal Limited, McDonald's Israel is owned and run by Israeli mogul Omri Padan, who is the president of the local licensee for McDonalds'. Unfortunately for the world, McDonald's deleted the tweet and chose to distance itself from this incident. That's the way it looked Thursday morning when a tweet was posted slamming Donald Trump with insults, both on a personal level and as the president of the nation. The company focuses on promoting its food and business practices.

Has McDonald's taken one for the team and told Donald Trump what we've all wanted to say for SO LONG? Was it even really a hack, or did a McDonald's social media manager make a colossal mistake? The post also waxed nostalgic for former president Barack Obama.

Twitter declined to comment on the matter, citing privacy and security reasons.

Trump, interestingly, is one of the more fast-food friendly USA presidents in recent years, and is also known to be a prolific Twitter user.
