Trump to speak to House Republicans Tuesday on healthcare: aides

American Action Network (AAN) is launching digital ads on Monday through video, display ads and landing pages urging lawmakers to support the GOP leadership-backed bill, titled the American Health Care Act. He also noted that the revisions will likely allow for federal block grants to states for Medicaid and permit states to add a work requirement for Medicaid recipients.

The Wisconsin Republican says "we believe we should offer more assistance than what the bill now does" and that it's one of several possible revisions to help round up enough House votes for the bill.

Speaking in front of an invite-only crowd upward of 100 people during the St. Matthews Chamber of Commerce's "Legislative Cofee" event, the Kentucky Republican said he feels the plan doesn't do enough to fix flaws in the current version of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

"I can not vote for any bill that keeps premiums rising", Cruz said. "He's helping us make sure that we bridge differences with members who are bringing constructive ideas and solutions for how to make this bill better", Ryan said. "I believe that the real negotiation begins when we stop them". Among the many criticisms levied against the bill, some are concerned that it doesn't do enough to protect seniors and low-income Americans from rising health-care costs.

Israel's Netanyahu repeats promise to build new West Bank settlement
However, Israel disagrees with Palestine, citing historical and political links to the land, as well as security interests.

He encouraged fellow Republicans pushing for support from House colleagues to "remind members that attacks from the Left are nothing new, and rarely accurate".

In the Senate, where Republicans hold a narrow 52-48 majority, prospects for the GOP bill also were uncertain as both moderates and conservatives criticized it. There are several GOP senators opposed to the bill, some of whom want a clean repeal of Obamacare, and other more moderate Republicans who fear that the repeal could hurt low-income Americans. He told them: "This is our moment to make history". He said Sunday that he didn't believe the bill would lower premiums for working people. "We're going to have a healthcare plan that's going to be second to none".

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said she would not vote for the measure without additional changes to provide more aid to older Americans. That age group tends to have more medical issues than younger adults and, thus, higher insurance costs, and the ACA forbids insurers to charge their oldest customers more than three times their rates for young adults - essentially having young adults cross-subsidize the cost of coverage for older ones.

"I would say, this is the very, very beginning of the budget process", he said. But I will say that [the National Institutes of Health] is something that's particularly popular in Congress.
