Uber president Jeff Jones quits

Arianna Huffington

Uber has been facing a lot of controversies from quite a long time.

Jeff Jones, president of the embattled ride-hailing company Uber, has resigned just six months after taking the job, the company confirmed Sunday.

Huffington, who is helping Uber search for a new chief operating officer, also defended Kalanick's place at the helm of the company.

His exit follows a string of highly publicized controversies that have dogged the ride-hailing giant, such as sexual harassment and toxic workplace allegations, reports of hard behaviour from CEO Travis Kalanick, undermining taxi strikes in the wake of US President Donald Trump's initial immigration ban in January, and supposedly stealing trade secrets from autonomous auto company Alphabet Inc. - not to mention its regulation issues in cities across Canada.

Ms Holt said drivers who had amassed a long history of trips would be treated differently to a newer driver.

The Uber board member criticized the cable news network during an Uber conference call on Tuesday over what she called a misleading headline. Holt said at one point: "Everyone at Uber, including Travis, knows that we must change".

No prices for them have been revealed yet, Source Crystals will be available on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace. While Source Crystals aren't created to impact progression in the game, they do allow for a bit of a shortcut.

However, the promises fell short of what many drivers have been calling for. In an email to staff, CEO Travis Kalanick said Jones made the decision to leave following the announcement that Uber meant to hire a chief operations officer (COO).

In response, Uber announced it would launch an investigation led by Eric Holder, who served under President Barack Obama as attorney-general, the highest ranking police officer in the US.

Mr. McClendon is departing amicably from Uber and will be an adviser to the company. She detailed several instances of sexual harassment and a culture that did not welcome women.

The story's headline is now: "Arianna Huffington: Sexual harassment isn't a "systemic problem" at Uber", with an editor's note at the bottom that says, "The headline of this article has been changed to more accurately reflect that Huffington's answers were about sexual harassment".

"The focus of the company has been on the business and not the employees", she told reporters.

She said CNN had since corrected the headline.
