Top Dem Now Wants House Intel Chairman Investigated

Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., announced Friday that Paul Manafort, former chairman of Donald Trump's presidential campaign, has volunteered to testify in front of the committee.

Sen. Jack Reed is calling for a special prosecutor to investigate ties between Russian interests and President Donald Trump's campaign.

Nunes, who served on Trump's transition team executive committee, was criticized by Democrats for bypassing his own committee to present his claims directly to Trump, who is now under investigation. "The American citizens, including the president and the transition team members, according to Chairman Nunes, were surveilled in some way, shape, and form", Spicer said.

Mr Comey also said the Federal Bureau of Investigation had no evidence that Trump Tower was wiretapped by former President Obama or anyone else despite Mr Trump's accusations laid out in a series of tweets.

Nunes said he had been provided information showing the collected communications had nothing to do with investigations into possible links between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation and had minimal intelligence value. You know, why, because somebody says "incidental".

"He (Nunes) said he'll have to get all the documents he requested from the IC (intelligence community) about this before he knows for sure".

"I have seen intelligence reports that clearly show the president-elect and his team were at least monitored and disseminated out in intelligence", Nunes said.

Kim DePaola: 1 Victim Identified After Horrific Homicide In 'RHONJ' Star's vehicle
The white Audi that the men were found in was registered to Kim DePaola , who starred in the "Real Housewives of New Jersey". The bodies were burned beyond recognition and an autopsy was conducted. "I've been calling him and it's going to voicemail".

FBI Director James Comey and the head of the National Security Agency said this week there was no evidence to back up Trump's allegations.

So that's what's really interesting, because both Adam Schiff and Devin Nunes, the chair and ranking members of the committee, have access to information that the whole committee does not have access to.

Nunes said Wednesday the reports "bothers me and should bother the president and his team". In a statement Wednesday, Schiff said he'd expressed his "grave concerns" to Nunes, and told him that "a credible investigation can not be conducted this way".

Nunes took the nearly unprecedented step of calling an impromptu press conference to discuss highly classified documents he hadn't shared with fellow committee members and then heading to the White House to brief Trump on his allegations.

"I can tell you that the case is more than that [circumstantial evidence]", Schiff told MSNBC.

On Thursday, Sen. John McCain said it is "disturbing" that the chairman of the House intelligence committee is publicly airing often-secret information.

He urged anyone else with information relevant to the investigation, which is looking into Russian meddling as well as the mishandling of classified information, to approach the committee.
