John McCain: Trump Team 'Partially To Blame' For Syria Chemical Attack

It prompted President Donald Trump to order a missile strike on an airfield held by the regime.

In a phone call with Syrian President Bashar Assad, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called the strike on Friday a "blatant violation" of Syrian sovereignty, Syrian state media reported. "And that's key." She then claimed on CNN's State of the Union that the problem wasn't so much Syrian children but the "Syrian adults" who take them to the U.S. President Trump had spoken out during his election campaign against USA military intervention, and had been keen to fix relations with Russian Federation, whose president Vladimir Putin backs the Assad regime.

The statement did not include critical details like what kind of military operation would cross such a red line, or what kind of response would be made on the part of Syria and its allies, but noted that they would work to "liberate" Syria from occupation.

Speaking on Fox News Sunday, McMaster said the United States would take further action in Syria if necessary.

And other members are keen to establish clarity over the U.S.'s position on Assad's regime, ahead of a visit to Russian Federation by U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Tuesday. Iran has also contributed Shiite militias to back Assad. The Syrian government has denied it was behind the attack.

In his first televised interview, H.R. McMaster pointed to dual USA goals of defeating the Islamic State group and removing Assad. The strike was the first time American forces targeted a Syrian government installation in the course of the war.

North Carolina defeats Gonzaga for redemption in national championship
North Carolina's Roy Williams is in his ninth Final Four and fourth championship game, two of which were titles in 2005 and '09. It took all the rhythm out of the game and played a pretty big role in why neither team was able to find a groove offensively.

President Trump's long-term intentions in Syria thus remained unclear in the days since 59 Tomahawk missiles tore into a Syrian air base that US officials said was used to launch a deadly poison gas attack on April 4 that killed about 80 Syrian civilians and injured dozens more. Most recently, Haley condemned the country's silence over Assad's chemical attack.

Putin said that the USA missile attacks were an "unacceptable move" which strengthens the terrorists.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Sunday played down concerns of a rift with Russian Federation over Ankara's support for the strike, saying Turkey was committed to the cease-fire mechanisms it has developed with Russian Federation for Syria. Turkey provides military support to some of Syria's opposition forces. In January 2016, the OPCW announced that all chemical weapons in Syria had been destroyed.

"We want to continue our efforts with Russian Federation in the Astana process in terms of measures to increase trust and establish a cease-fire", he told reporters in Antalya, according to the Anadolu state news agency.

The two leaders also called for an objective investigation into an incident involving chemical weapons in Syria's Idlib and said they were ready to deepen cooperation to fight terrorism, the Kremlin said in a statement on its website.
