Authorities search for suspect who shot Logan County deputy, stole two vehicles

The suspect, identified as Nathan Aaron Leforce, was last seen Tuesday morning when the deputy went to his home to serve an eviction order in Logan County in central Oklahoma. Deputy David Wade was shot multiple times in the chest and face. A manhunt involving the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Logan County Sheriff's Office ensued, with LeForce's capture occurring just before 2:30 p.m. The stolen vehicle is a gray 2010 Mazda with an Oklahoma tag AEN-616.

Vincent said LeForce was found in a nearby outbuilding, where he surrendered to authorities.

A deputy was shot and killed in the Oklahoma City area Tuesday.

"He stole the deputy's patrol vehicle - ended up leaving it behind Smitty's Gas Station which is on Highway 33 west of Langston", Philippi said.

Authorities across Oklahoma were alerted to Leforce's flight and instituted measures like checkpoints and search perimeters.
