Facebook murder suspect kills himself after police pursuit

Stephens, 37, shared a recording on Sunday of himself announcing his plan to kill someone, then two minutes later posted another video of himself shooting and killing Godwin, Facebook said. The chilling video was on Facebook for three hours before it was taken down.

A five-state manhunt was launched to find Stephens after the children's mental health worker vowed to "keep killing until they (police) catch me". She said even after they parted she was still trying to get him to reach out for help with a gambling habit.

Lane said the last time she talked to Stephens was Saturday night and he told her he had quit his job and was moving out of state.

Acting on the tip, police arrived at the Erie McDonald's and spotted Stephens leaving the fast-food restaurant.

Stephens' mother, Maggie Green, told CNN he was "mad with his girlfriend". The incident highlights Facebook's awkward position when it comes to detecting, censoring and removing graphic content on its platform. Troopers attempted a PIT maneuver to disable Stephens' vehicle, and as it was spinning out of control, police say Stephens pulled a pistol and shot himself in the head. "If you did it, you have to face your crime", she said.

Italy's Emma Morano, the world's oldest person, dies at 117
Morano - born November 21, 1899 in Italy's Piedmont region - died Saturday at her home in Verbania, according to the AP. Morano famously attributed her long life, in part, to staying single after ending a bad marriage in her late 30s.

Stephens allegedly filmed himself committing the murder and published the video on Facebook along with another video in which he claims to have previously murdered an additional 13 people.

In one video posted on Facebook, Stephens said that he gambled away everything and that he and his girlfriend had planned to marry but did not, without saying why.

Until the investigation is complete, Williams said, "we won't actually know where he was and what he was doing". At a Silicon Valley conference Tuesday afternoon, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg briefly mentioned the Cleveland case. "I've been told that I'm the one who should have died".

"We have a lot more to do here", Zuckerberg said.
