Trump defends US TV host accused of sexual harassment

The New York Times reported that five women received settlements totaling $13 million.

Following the Times story, O'Reilly released a statement in which he described himself as a victim, and claimed his reason for paying out the settlements was to protect his children.

In a Wednesday interview with the newspaper, Trump came to O'Reilly's defense, calling him "a good person".

"I wonder why women at the network would take that particularly seriously", he said. "I think he's a person I know well - he is a good person", Trump asserted.

The beef between O'Reilly and Ludacris continued in 2004 when, in his hit song "Number One Spot", the performer referenced a sexual harassment lawsuit against the host, rapping, "Respected highly, 'Hi, Mr. O'Reilly!' Hope all is well, kiss the plaintiff and the wifey". The president was citing a report from a Republican writer and conspiracy theorist who said Rice tried to reveal the identities of the Trump associates caught in surveillance of foreign officials.

One early holdout, weight loss and diet company Jenny Craig, announced late Tuesday that it suspended its ad buys on O'Reilly's program, joining such major brands as Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Lexus, Allstate Insurance and Coldwell Banker that have moved their commercials out of the show.

Trump Slams Former Presidents Clinton, Obama While Discussing North Korea Policy
It also deployed its nuclear-powered Carl Vinson Strike Group, which had been en route to Australia, toward the Korean Peninsula. Speaking today he also described the failed missile test as an "unsuccessful military attack" on the US.

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski slammed President Trump on Thursday for defending Bill O'Reilly against sexual harassment allegations. Bill O'Reilly needs to go to jail.

Fox News is a sexual harassment factory, apparently. Her tongue has grown sharper in the wake of the Trump administration, and that was proved once again Wednesday night when Auntie called Fox News "a sexual harassment enterprise". "Such comments tell women they won't be believed", she tweeted at Trump's @POTUS account.

"It's coming out of the mouth of someone who has said some awful things about women", Waters said.

The show has also seen a huge jump in ratings, with over 3.76 million people watching Tuesday evening's episode of "The O'Reilly Factor".

Rep. Maxine Waters, and Fox News personality Bill O'Reilly. That difference was highlighted even more so on April 5 when Biden responded to the Bill O'Reilly allegations of sexual assault.
