Patriots schedule 2017: New England will be tested, but not often

The game will be the Patriots' third regular-season game played outside the United States.

The defending Super Bowl Champion Patriots have another very favorable schedule for 2017, and stop me if you've heard this before: 16-0 could happen. That said, perhaps no schedule would be too hard for the defending champs. The Patriots and Falcons will face off in a rematch of the Super Bowl LI, when they meet October 22 at the Patriots' Gillette Stadium, in a Sunday Night Football game broadcast by NBC Sports.

It won't be a rematch of Super Bowl LI, instead the Chiefs will be on hand rather than the Falcons.

The Patriots will play all three teams they faced in the 2016 postseason. Brady and the Pats travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers and rising star QB Jameis Winston in an unpredictable Thursday night contest that could be a "trap" for New England ... The annual road game against the Jets is always fun. New England will host the Houston Texans on Sun., Sept 24, the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football on October 22, and travel to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sun., Dec. 17.

Massive US bomb dead toll rise to 94
The district governor of Achin, Ismail Shinwari, said security forces had recovered 92 bodies, none of them civilians. John Nicholson has standing authority to use the bomb, which is called the Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb (MOAB).

The Patriots will travel to Mexico City to face the defending AFC West Champion Oakland Raiders on November 19 as part of the NFL's International Series. That game against Oakland, given the location and the strength of opponent, might be the toughest game on New England's schedule.

The final month of the 2017 regular season for the Patriots is a Steelers sandwich with AFC East bread. The Patriots hosted the Jets last Christmas Eve.

Thursday, Aug. 10: New England vs. Jacksonville, 7:30 p.m.
