A strong storm caused severe flooding and tornadoes that killed at least two people and injured dozens more in Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas.

The first reports of tornadoes came about 4.45pm on Saturday, but emergency crews were hampered by continuing severe weather, said Judge Don Kirkpatrick, the chief executive for Van Zandt County.

A team will survey the damage on Sunday to determine the intensity of the tornadoes.
