Severe Storms Possible in Northern Iowa Monday

Severe Storms Possible in Northern Iowa Monday

Strong, damaging winds will be the main threat from the most intense thunderstorms.

The entire eastern half of Nebraska is included in an area of slight risk for severe weather. We are still expecting scattered supercell thunderstorms, capable of very large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.

It was a little breezy though with gusts over 30 mph in the afternoon hours.

Storms move into central Oklahoma including Oklahoma City Tuesday night. Extreme western Morris County is also in an enhanced risk for severe weather.

Tonight partly cloudy with lows in the upper 60s. And while the models keep these storms up along US-20, there's a chance they could track a little further south. Storms riding along a thermal gradient tend to move toward higher instability levels and we could see these turn a little more right.

Mourinho on top four as Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool scrap
Chelsea is one win away from clinching the Premier League title and already has qualified for next season's Champions League. Arsenal's only chance to sneak into fourth now is if Liverpool drop points.

Tomorrow there is a small chance of a pop up shower in the morning again mainly toward north-central Kansas but better chances exist later in the afternoon.

Moisture is returning and heat is building in advance of this two-part storm system shown below (valid Wednesday).

Thursday is likely to give us a chance to dry out and continue cooling. The flash flooding risk is also on the rise for Thursday.

Forecast 7-day rainfall totals through 7 a.m. next Monday. Highs are expected to top out in the 80s for much of the week ahead, before we cool back down into the 70s leading into next weekend. Be sure to stay tuned to KVOE and KVOE.com for the latest on the weather.
