South Korea military suspects object crossing border was North Korean balloon

South Korea's military bolstered air surveillance and broadcast a warning to North Korea via loudspeakers Tuesday after an unidentified object flew across the border, known as the Demilitarized Zone.

NAN reports that U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that a "major, major conflict" with North Korea is possible over its weapons programmes, although U.S. officials say tougher sanctions, not military force, are the preferred option to counter the North Korean threat.

Last Sunday, the North's military tested another medium-to-long range ballistic missile, the Pukguksong-2.

The UN Security Council on Monday vowed to push all countries to tighten sanctions against North Korea as it prepared for a closed-door meeting called in response to the latest missile launch.

Chinese enterprises and banking institutions could be targeted with secondary sanctions because China accounts for about 90 percent of North Korea's trade in terms of total value.

On Tuesday Seoul's unification ministry said its priority is to solve North Korea's nuclear issue.

Weather conditions hindered a clearer view of the flying object, captured on radar cruising at a speed lower than most drones, according to Yonhap news agency.

She says they sang a song about her relationship with Mary , which is Mary's favorite song of theirs. Jane says their performance was ridiculed by the judges and Banks.

"If left on its current trajectory, the regime will ultimately succeed in fielding a nuclear-armed missile capable of threatening the United States homeland", Stewart said Tuesday.

If so, it wouldn't be the first time Seoul has reported a drone crossing over the border from the North.

The most immediate impact would be on South Korea, potentially within zero to six minutes; followed by Tokyo, which could be hit in 10-11 minutes.

Under UN resolutions North Korea is barred from developing nuclear and ballistic missile technology. "It's not completely clear that China has quit North Korea cold turkey", Kent Boydston of the Peterson Institute for International Economics told the Washington Post.

North Korean drone flights across the border are unusual, but have happened before.
