Trump administration may return USA compounds to Russian Federation

The Trump administration could give back two Russian diplomatic compounds - one on Long Island and another in coastal Maryland - that were seized late previous year during a wave of sanctions against the country, according to a report.

The compounds were bought by the Soviet government last century. This construction was suspended after America imposed sanctions on Russian Federation in 2014 for its invasion of Ukraine.

The White House is now exploring turning the estates - one of which is in Oyster Bay - back over to Moscow, the Washington Post reported. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak at a meeting in Washington that the United States had dropped any linkage between the compounds and the consulate, according to several people with knowledge of the exchanges.

"The dialogue between Russian Federation and the U.S.is now free from the ideology that characterized it under the Barack Obama administration".

'Only BJP can build Telangana of freedom fighter's dreams'
Central ministers, foreign diplomats and other state governments have also appreciated the state's progress, he added. And since the state's formation till date, we have received only Rs67,390 crore through central devolutions.

The Trump White House is reportedly seriously considering allowing Russian Federation to resume its use of two diplomatic facilities that were shuttered during the final weeks of the Obama administration in December 2016.

"Russia is seeking to return its diplomatic property in [U.S.] asap", Russian Federation in US tweeted out.

The buildings, located in Maryland and NY, had enjoyed diplomatic immunity until former President Barack Obama ordered them to be closed down. Kremlin spokesman Yury Ushakov said Wednesday that Russia understands "the hard internal political situation for the current administration", but would explore options to retaliate for what it considers the "expropriation" of its property, according to Russian news outlet Sputnik. "Washington Post is among them", Ryabkov said.

The Washington Post reported that Trump officials are specifically looking at whether to grant diplomatic immunity for the compounds - if they're returned. Besides that, U.S. authorities expelled 35 Russian diplomats and shut down two Russian compounds in NY and Maryland. Russian officials repeatedly asserted during meetings with US diplomats that Obama's action was illegal.
