Accused NSA Leaker Reality Winner To Remain In Jail Pending Trial

Court sketch shows Reality Winner in court with Asst. U.S. Attorney Jennifer Solari at the podium on Thu

She is expecting to be released on bond Thursday.

Reality Leigh Winner, 25, a federal contractor charged by the U.S. Department of Justice for sending classified material to a news organization, poses in a picture posted to her Instagram account. She could also face a fine of up to $250,000. She is an Air Force Veteran who speaks three other languages: Dari, Farsi, and Pashto.

Her stepfather said Reality Winner never expressed unpatriotic thoughts and "is a good person". How would she know what to look for? In a phone call to her sister, victor said she was willing to use the "pretty white girl" in court and that if she didn't get bond would go nuclear with the media, Golari said. She had top secret security clearance.

According to the Justice Department affidavit, the reporter showed an Augusta, Ga. -based intelligence contracting company leaked documents he had received postmarked from Augusta, believing that firm might have been the source. The NSA report, dated May 5, provides details of a 2016 Russian cyberattack on a USA voting software supplier, though there is no evidence the hack affected any votes.

Prosecutors argued that the only thing victor could do if she were released on bail is be recruited by the nation's enemies.

"She was afraid she was going to disappear, that they were going to make her disappear".

Victor has been charged with "gathering, transmitting or losing defense information", says The Washington Post.

Victor served in the Air Force from December 2010 to 2016.

Victor received the Air Force Commendation Medal in 2016, which is for members who have "distinguished themselves by meritorious achievement and service". "But we do know she's very intelligent". She stood with her hands behind her back and said, "Yes, your honor" when asked whether she has gotten a lawyer.

In September 2016, District Court Judge Pamela Pepper ruled in the teen's favor, instructing the school to accommodate Whitaker . Circuit Court Judge Ann Claire Williams .

According to court documents, the reporter from The Intercept provided a hard copy of the document to an NSA contact in an attempt to verify it and also told that contact it was mailed from Augusta.

"Downright frightening?" defense attorney Titus Nichols responded.

"There's not much to comment on right now as far as whether there is a connection between my client and Intercept", Nichols said.

According to CNN, attorney Titus Nichols said a detention hearing will take place on Thursday, where the judge will determine whether to release victor on bond. The judge will determine whether to release her on bond. But the secretive nature of her job didn't stop victor from speaking freely on politics and other topics on social media accounts accessible to anyone.

"I just know she cares about her world and taking care of people and animals", Winner-Davis said.

"The important thing is making sure she receives a fair trial". "She met with a state rep and was going to have follow-up meetings with his office".

Since her arrest, victor has emerged as an otherwise ordinary young woman who like many Americans took out her dislike of the Republican president on social media. The Intercept said some material was withheld at USA intelligence agencies' request because it wasn't "clearly in the public interest".

Her attorney told CNN he was unable to confirm that the Twitter account was Winner's.
