McCain-led delegation visits Pakistan for talks

Kabul rocket kills woman and child

Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that USA stands for human rights and democracy as leader of globe but not conditioning U.S. policy with Pakistan basics is very surprising.

Influential U.S. Senator John McCain (Republican-Arizona) says peace in Afghanistan or elsewhere in the region is not possible without the involvement of Pakistan.

The delegation met Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and discussed with him important bilateral issues, including terrorism, Pakistan's relations with India and Afghanistan and regional peace.

The members of the USA delegation included Senators Lindsey Graham (Republican), Elizabeth Warren (Democrat), Sheldon Whitehouse (Democrat) and David Perdue (Republican).

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Monday said as longstanding partners and strategic allies, a sustained and strong Pakistan-US partnership was essential to deal with the various challenges confronting the region and beyond.

Pakistan argues that it has done a great deal to help the United States in tracking down terrorists and points out that it has suffered hundreds of deaths in militants attacks in response to its crackdowns.

He added the Kashmir issue is essential for them and can not be overlooked, which is why the Pakistani government will not hold talks with India without Kashmir being part of the deliberations.

Far-right leader Marine Le Pen charged with European Union funds misuse
The case was brought as a result of a complaint from the European parliament which accused FN of defrauding it on a large scale. Her lawyer Rodolphe Bosselut confirmed on Friday afternoon, with several National front politicians also under investigation.

Aziz also raised concern over the inhumane activities of Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.

The US senators also praised the economic turnaround, as manifested by investors' interest and confidence in Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Adviser further stressed that Pakistan firmly believed in the legitimacy of the Kashmir cause and peaceful struggle of the Kashmiri people to claim the right to self-determination.

A statement from the military said they were also briefed on border security, including Pakistan's bid to fence the frontier with Afghanistan. "The dividend of these policies is empirically verifiable", he added.

The PM reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to support all efforts aimed at lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The statement says Pakistan looked forward to constructive engagement with the United States on all efforts and initiatives that would lead to a stable and prosperous Afghanistan.
