Korea says another UNSC resolution will trigger corresponding measures

China trading more with North Korea but buying less coal

"If the UN Security Council adopts another sanction resolution, we will take subsequent steps and respond with fair measures", the statement said, as quoted by the state-owned Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

"We will adopt a strong UNSC resolution to impose additional sanctions on North Korea, and do not want compromised resolutions", Haley emphasized, indicating that the USA will not tolerate a lower level of sanctions due to opposition from China and Russian Federation.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said Chinese exports of iron to North Korea for civilian purposes do not relate to the sanctions targeting Pyongyang's nuclear and missile programs, and China will continue implementing the resolutions "in an all-out manner".

In the wake of North Korea's recent intercontinental ballistic missile test, the USA has been pushing for tougher sanctions on the regime.

Two-way trade between China and North Korea rose 10.5 percent to $2.55 billion in the first half of 2017, according to data released by the Chinese government on Thursday. Mr Trump also said China's trade with North Korea had grown almost 40 per cent in the first quarter. Moreover, China is pushing trades with areas not included in the United Nations sanctions.

It has been reported that the United States has proposed a new draft UNSC resolution for further sanctions on North Korea to China.

The report linked Iran and North Korea, claiming that both states were moving toward producing the Fadj-5 Aero CRBM and KN-SS-X-9, respectively. Imports from North Korea are declining every month beginning March. However in February China said it would halt purchases until the end of the year, in compliance with Security Council resolutions over the North's nuclear program.

Labor Department to release employment data for June
Average hourly earnings, which currency traders monitor closely, increased 0.2 percent in June, short of the 0.3 percent expected. The Bureau of Labor Statistics also adjusted the figures for April (from 174,000 to 207,000) and May (from 138,000 to 152,000).

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said China's cooperation on North Korea was "uneven" when he spoke to lawmakers in mid-June, saying US officials were concerned about actions by both the government and other entities in China.

"Make no mistake, the Security Council's sanctions on [North Korea] can not be equated with all-encompassing economic sanctions".

China has seriously carried out United Nations sanctions on North Korea, said Huang.

The text calls for kicking out from the USA banking system the businesses and financial institutions involved in a significant amount of trade in goods and services with the communist state, barring all North Korean-made products from entering the U.S. market, and sanctioning all firms engaged in labor exports.

North Korea's biggest need is to pay for fuel, since the country doesn't come close to producing enough oil.
