Jonathan Ross finally quit the BBC on Friday night, turning in his first decent interview in ages as he managed to have a coherent chat with Jackie Chan, where most British interviewers find the language barrier an obstacle too big.
He also spoke with David Beckham and Mickey Rourke in his swan song, and is now rumoured to be going into a similar format over on ITV. There’s also a growing rumour that he’s set to produce and host the next Brit Awards.
Hardly a huge surprise, it seems Jonathan Ross may well be planning on taking his talents over to the third channel. This follows his declining to renew his contract with the BBC after that whole answerphone business. Talks with Channel 4 apparently broke down.
According to sources, his new outing will likely be a Saturday night transmission, probably following The X Factor in the evening schedule.
With everyone scrapping over the best choice in the blogosphere – with ideas ranging from Mark Kermode to Andrew Collins for the top job – it’s been announced that Claudia Winkleman is to take over the current run of 2010 in place of the departing Jonathan Ross.
She’s creepy and she’s kooky – mysterious and spooky. She’s all together ooky…
She’s Lady Gaga!
You either love, hate or are indifferent to Lady Gaga’s unique sense of style, but with this telephone bonnet there’s the distinct possibility her detractors could be swayed into admiration – for rarely does Joe Public get to see such a wonderful display of telephonic milinery.
At some point in March, Cheryl Cole is set to appear on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross – and the Daily Record reports that she’s likely to ‘open her heart’ to the chat-show host.
How else is a modern starlet expected to get over the dissolution of her marriage other than parading it – with bonus tears – on a prime-time, Friday evening chat show?
It’s being reported that Michael McIntyre has rejected the vacant Friday evening slot recently vacated by Jonathan Ross, when he leaves the BBC for pastures new.
In a bizarre twist, it’s said Chris Evans is second in demand in what could be a suicidal move by the BBC. Anyone remember OFI Sunday?
A slow news days suddenly transforms into a massive news day, as Jonathan Ross announces he is set to leave the BBC – with his current contract set to run until July. Web hearsay is also revolving around the notion he may be set to join Sky, but the rumours are, as yet, unfounded.
What a combination! What a collision of collossal talent!
If you’re staying in this Friday night, then what better way of whiling it away than in the company of two titans of entertainment television? That controversial ninny Gordon Ramsay will be joining the over-exposed Ross in this week’s show, so expect plenty of manly banter and hilarious (toe-curling), back-and-forth blather.
